For the past few years, Professor Xiaoyan Xiong has undertaken more than 10 research projects, including 1 National Key Research and Development Project, 3 projects for National Natural Science Foundation of China, projects from Major Projects of Shanxi Province, and projects from Shanxi International Science and Technology Cooperation. She has won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress, the first prize of Regional Science and Technology Progress, the first prize of Teaching Achievement, and the second prize of Regional Natural Science. She owns 17 authorized patents. She has published more than 40 research papers, and has earned several personal honors, including the Academic Leader of Shanxi Province, SanJin Talent, Outstanding Academic Leader in Universities, and Regional Expert with Outstanding Contributions.
